Something From Yesterday
I put on my pants today. Then my shoes. The years of practice finally paying off. Now, I must face the world. In that case I should probably even wear a bow tie.
As a little boy the desire was to take off on an adventure, explore a new world, taste exotic foods, build castles, befriend dragons, connect with tenderhearted kindred spirits, paint sunrises, eat pizza—let each day be a miracle.
But when the shoes have been put on, the bow tie straightened and I remember the pants halfway to work on the bus, the world is not that easy. Mainly because it can be sticky, cold and people might not appreciate my rocket ship underpants.
Yet the pattern of daily habits are not for survival but gentle nudges that dreams still matter.
